How Simon Laird Helped Me Out Of The Substack Schizo Corner

The exclusive behind the scenes story of our interview

After realizing that Substack confined me to the Crazy Corner I devised a plan to escape. Instead of focusing my attention on the hardcore lunatic fringe, which is my normal readership I would tiptoe into the Edgy Normal Zone. In otherwords people who say spices things from time to time but are not currently being surveilled by DHS like my good friend

.

In other words people who I could reasonably bring to my parent’s Thanksgiving without upsetting my mom, while still upsetting my step dad who voted for Hillary Clinton.

Enter Simon Laird. When you look at Simon Laird you realize he's perfect for the job. He's clean cut, articulate, thinks the things we are thinking but doesn’t yell them purple face, Alex Jones style.

Simon Laird's readership have real jobs. They're programmers and accountants and have families and golden retrievers. His readership might disapprove of the status quo, but they are normal passing. They don't import raws from China and brew their own steroids in the bathtub. They probably don't even know the difference between cottonseed oil and grapeseed oil. In short, normal people with bank accounts registered to their real name who have the ability to purchase my book with a debit card.

So anyway I slid into his DMs, made up an excuse to yeet my book to his address. He looks like a guy who actually reads. So it wouldn't be hard to Yolo a book at him and lock him in for a podcast.

And I was right. Unlike the majority of Substack creators Simon Laird is actually capable of reading comprehending and critically responding to information. This puts him at the top 1% of Substack most of whom just parrot MSM. Upon further research I realized, that this guy even debates people in an intelligent way.

Then I thought oh fuck. What if he debates me? On paper this guy holds the exact opposite ideology to me, despite having the same disposition to me on cultural issues. What if Simon Laird uses my book to ambush me on some weird philosophical objection that im not prepared for?

So channeling the wisdom of my CPSU ancestors I had my team prepare a whole file on Simon Laird, just in case he was going to debate ambush me. I had all my talking points lined up ready to go. Two hours worth of material. Vladamir Putin and my grandmother both agree that the correct strategy is to always strike first.

But that didn't happen. Which was incredibly confusing to me actually. Did I almost attack a wholesome center right guy out of ancestral trauma and Russian delusional paranoia? Yes. Almost. But I didn't.

I guess the moral of the story is that if your trying to climb out of the Schizo zone into the center, don't be so much of a Schizo that you fall back into your Schizo hole. Don't sabotage your own escape. Sometimes you have to be paranoid of your own paranoia.

Either way I sold 20 books, because of our podcast together. Which means that 20 normal people have my crazy Geo Arbitrage Job Stacking wizard book on their bookshelf, next to The Art Of The Deal.
